Ellen Grove began painting and drawing at young age with some valuable guidance from a family friend.  She went on to study graphic design, began work at a sign shop and started a family.

Many years went by and she received a gift of watercolor classes for her birthday.  One of her first watercolor paintings was a portrait of her son and she was hooked.  She began painting regularly thanks to the wonderful support of her friends and family.

Ellen Grove has a unique style to her watercolor painting and enjoys the predictable unpredictability of  this medium.  Although she favors painting the human form she finds still life and landscape painting can be just as exciting.  Her style is quite loose and emotional but still includes specific details to her subjects.  She now faithfully attends weekly figure drawing and enjoying every minute and sees just time to paint as a gift.
